Important Update for International Visitors to Georgia πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ͺ

Starting January 1, 2026, all international travelers to Georgia are required to have valid health insurance for the full duration of their stay.

Key points:

↳ Minimum coverage: 30,000 GEL

↳ Accepted from Georgian or foreign insurers

↳ Can be physical or electronic, in Georgian or English

↳ Health and accident insurance for the full period of stay in Georgia (but no more than 1 year)

↳ Border officials may request proof upon entry

The scope of this rule does not apply to: a) Persons holding a diplomatic or special visa; b) Persons holding a diplomatic, official, service, or special passport; c) Accredited employees of diplomatic missions, consular offices, representations of international organizations, and equivalent representations in Georgia, as well as family members of these employees who hold accreditation; d) Persons whose entry into Georgia is provided for by international agreements or treaties of Georgia; e) Drivers involved in international road freight transport and passenger transportation.
